On Hopewell Chin’ono’s arrest & press freedom in Zimbabwe

They arrested Hopewell Chin’ono two days ago.

Also taken by the police was opposition politician, Jacob Ngarivhume.

I am in awe of the sort of courage that enables people like Hopewell to speak up in the face of danger. Through his work, he has spoken up for me and millions of other Zimbabweans over and over again.

I wrote a piece for Nieman Reports about his arrest and the state of press freedom in Zimbabwe.

This is my little way of speaking up for him.
