This is a difficult time for many people. For more people than normal. The lack of structure and routine has us off-center. It seems there are fires everywhere. There is so much death. People have lost jobs and homes. And still COVID-19 rages on. And then there is this question of trust, and leadership, and who really knows what’s going on?

Sometimes, it’s hard to know how to console people when it seems that no words can be enough. When it seems there is too much pain in the world for words to soothe.

But words are the beginning and the foundation of many things. Words are the balm for many of our wounds. We just need to have our hearts in the right place.

Every day I get texts, DMs, comments, emails saying:

“Brendon, what am I going to do?! There’s too many unknowns. So many things are going wrong. I don’t know if I can handle it.”

First, I can’t say I know what’s going on in your life. But I can tell you I care.

I can’t say what you should do for sure, but I can tell you to keep believing in yourself, to care for your loved ones, to strive every day to improve and do something good in the world…

Ok, this was sent to a mailing list, but don’t tell me that.
